Definition
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in making copies, packaging, collating, sign making, supervising, planning, organizing, evaluating, estimating, and performing related work as required.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises and instructs subordinates in the use of all copying equipment and all related equipment.
Schedules work in order to meet deadlines.
Determines priority on reproduction of jobs.
Maintains inventory of office supplies, paper products and equipment supplies.
Keeps records and prepares reports.
Reviews requests for work and recommends changes to avoid foreseeable reproduction problems.
Checks work performed by subordinates.
Operates copier/duplicator, spirit duplicator, sign machine, folding machine, and mag card typewriter.
Types tests, student handouts, brochures, books, letters, and other correspondence.
Makes recommendations regarding equipment, supplies and office procedures.
Performs other work as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of business English and arithmetic.
Knowledge of the proper operation of all duplicating center equipment.
Ability to type accurately at an acceptable rate of speed.
Ability to learn to operate various office machines, reproduction equipment, and related equipment.
Ability to organize, direct, plan and supervise reproduction priorities.
Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions carefully and completely.
Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees.
Recommended Qualifications
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. Graduation from a standard high school including or supplemented by courses in general business. Experience in office work involving considerable typing and operation of duplicating equipment.
