Definition
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in overseeing activities and events, and maintaining building security. Performs other duties as assigned.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Sets up rooms for concerts, recitals, meetings, etc., and/or assures setups are complete.
Issues items such as record players, tape recorders, musical instruments, and other equipment.
Inspects for damage on return.
Adjusts lights, temperature control, etc.
Receives deposits and issues change from safe.
Reserves rooms and maintains activity calendar.
Maintains building security, and enforces building rules and regulations.
Contacts Security Office in case of emergency.
Supervises student employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to plan and organize work.
Ability to receive written and verbal instructions and follow through on them.
Ability to attend to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Willingness to work until job demands are met.
Numerical ability.
Recommended Qualifications
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. High school graduate with background of demonstrated ability to work with a large variety of the public; physically able to move equipment and oversee activities and events.
