Definition
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in overseeing activities and events, maintaining building security, and taping recitals and concerts. Performs other duties as assigned.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Sets up rooms for concerts, recitals, etc., and/or assures setups are complete.
Signs out record players, tape recorders and other equipment.
Enforces building rules and regulations by correcting behavior, explaining dress code, etc.
Checks and locks rooms, doors, equipment cabinets, storage closets, etc.
Checks ID cards for authorized entry.
Contacts Security Office in case of emergency.
Tapes recitals and concerts.
Copies recorded tape from concerts and recitals by connecting tape recorders and adjusting control for sound level, etc.
Makes and distributes copies to library, faculty and performer(s).
Performs miscellaneous duties such as filing, answering questions, and preparing posters by coloring and lettering.
Assumes duties of building activities attendant in his absence.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Recommended Qualifications
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. High school graduate with background of demonstrated ability to work with a large variety of the public; willingness to accept responsibility and work under supervision; physically able to move equipment and oversee activities and events.
