East Tennessee State University’s College of Business and Technology continues to solidify its reputation as a leader in computing education. The Cybersecurity and Modern Networks program has earned accreditation by ABET, the premier global accreditor for computing, engineering and technology programs.

“ABET accreditation is a rigorous process that evaluates program curriculum, faculty, facilities and student outcomes,” said Dr. Tony Pittarese, dean of the college. “The addition of our Cybersecurity and Modern Networks program to our roster of ABET-accredited programs reinforces ETSU’s position as a top-tier provider of computing education. We are extremely proud of the work that Dr. Brian Bennett and his faculty have done to make this possible.”

ABET accreditation signifies that a collegiate program has met the highest standards necessary to equip students with the skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive global workforce.

“This achievement reflects the dedication and expertise of our faculty and the high quality of education that our students receive,” said Dr. Bennett, chair of the Department of Computing. “Our graduates are equipped to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving industry, and this accreditation validates the strength of our program.”

ETSU Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Kimberly D. McCorkle also emphasized the importance of this milestone for ETSU’s academic mission.

“ABET accreditation is a mark of excellence, and this new accreditation for our Cybersecurity and Modern Networks program is a testament to ETSU’s commitment to providing the highest quality education for our students,” said McCorkle.
