I was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and received my Bachelor’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University in 1998. Following college, I attended Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans where I received my Medical Degree in 2002. I then completed an Internal Medicine Transitional Year at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN and began Radiology Residency at Baptist Health Center in Memphis. Following two years of radiology residency, I switched my specialty to Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University which I completed in 2009. In 2013 I graduated from Auburn University’s top-ranked Physician MBA program with a Masters in Business Administration. I am board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and have a special interest in Healthcare Business and Strategy and GI Pathology, where I also focus my practice clinically.
I joined the faculty at Quillen College of Medicine in July 2009 in the Department of Academic Affairs. Since joining Quillen as faculty my primary teaching responsibilities have been in teaching medical and physical therapy students in the Human Gross Anatomy Course. In addition to Anatomy, I teach in the Doctoring II Course and multiple fourth-year electives. I also direct the Business of Medicine Elective and Doctoring IV/Keystone Course.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy business and entrepreneurial endeavors both inside and outside of healthcare. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids, volunteering on various non-profit boards, coaching sports, attending sporting events, cycling, traveling, and cooking.
