Masters of Science in Allied Health
The Masters of Science in Allied Health (MSAH) degree is designed for any allied health professional who wants the flexibility of pursuing an advanced degree from the convenience of their home. The online classroom environment allows you to do your coursework when it fits into your schedule. If you find leadership intriguing, this is the degree for you.
The program of study was designed with the working dental hygienist, respiratory therapist, radiologic technologist, medical laboratory technologist, and other health care professionals in mind. The MSAH degree will allow you to advance in your field by providing you with skills to conduct research, teach, implement and evaluate innovative programs, or move into administration.
By building on the practical knowledge you already have while providing opportunities for professional growth this degree will allow you to tailor many of your assignments to the needs of your workplace. At the same time you will be part of a virtual classroom of diverse professions and backgrounds which will further enrich your learning experiences.
The MSAH is designed to give you choices about your course of study. You may elect
to take courses that will build your degree more toward becoming a professional educator or you might choose the administration track or perhaps you want to do some of both. The program offers the flexibility you need
to get the courses you want.
Completion/Graduation Requirements
The program curriculum requires that you complete 36 semester hours, comprised of core courses, your chosen electives, and either a thesis or an advanced practice clinical project. Only nine hours may be transferred from another university or program of study.
Expenses
All of the required courses, as well as most of the electives are available online and there are no residency requirements. In-state tuition arrangements are available for some allied health professionals who do not reside in Tennessee. Tuition and other costs are based on the current fee schedule established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
