Dr. William Heise is a native of Louisville, KY, and obtained his Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from Auburn University and undergraduate engineering degree from the University of Dayton. Dr. Heise worked at Eastman Chemical Company for twenty-eight years, holding positions in Engineering, Research and Development, Business Strategy and Development, Corporate Sustainability, and Innovation Management. He also spent three years at Eastman’s European headquarters in the Netherlands where he managed the European Polyester Technology department.
In 2017, Dr. Heise joined ETSU as a visiting professor in the Management and Marketing Department and in 2018 accepted a position as Professor of Practice. Dr. Heise has a passion for integrating real-world strategy problems for the MBA strategic experience projects, working with many local non-profit and for-profit clients. Dr. Heise also consults and conducts research in the areas of business and market strategy, primarily in the areas of additive manufacturing, sustainability, and plastics recycling.
