ETSU Semiannual Economic Report
2026: Fall Edition
Welcome to the Fall edition of the ETSU Economics Report. Here on campus we are excited to welcome the largest class of freshman ever at ETSU. In this issue we will explore the rapid rise of Artificial Intelligence and the massive investments in computing power, data centers, and the infrastructure needed to make it all work. We will examine some uses of AI, some opportunities and also some of the associated tradeoffs. We're also excited to introduce the "Small Business Spotlight," a new feature for this edition. We look forward to highlighting some of the entrepreneurs that make our economy work. As always, thank you for your support of our department. We hope you enjoy this issue and find it both informative and thought-provoking.
Thank you and Go Bucs!!
