Dillon's future plans are continuing to work in medical research and data science.
Donovan Swinger - BS - Spring 2022
After graduation Donovan plans on being a full-time Financial Advisor at New York Life. He was a financial representative intern at Northwestern Mutual.
Dru Williams - BS - Spring 2022
Dru will be teaching 8th grade mathematics at Heritage Middle School in Maryville.
Elizabeth Rutherford - BS - Fall 2021
Elizabeth is currently in the ETSU MAT Program. She is planning on teaching middle school mathematics.
Hannah Love - BS - Spring 2022
Hannah will be an Operations Research intern at Eastman Chemical Company. She will be pursuing a PhD at UC Merced with the goal of doing research in natural Language Processing.
Jett Burns - MS - Spring 2022
Jett will be moving Madison, Wisconsin to start as a Technical Solutions Engineer with Epic Systems. Epic Systems is a healthcare technology and software company.
Maria Alfaro - BS - Spring 2022
Maria plans on pursuing a Master's Degree in Mathematical Sciences at ETSU.
Mariah Taylor - BS - Spring 2022
Mariah has been accepted into Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine to pursue a career as a physician.
Rebecca Eubanks - BS - Spring 2022
Rebecca will be moving to Nashville. She has accepted a job at Capgemini as an Analyst.
Ryan Sears - BS - Spring 2022
Ryan will be starting with Eastman Chemical as a Control Systems Analyst.

Applied Data Science
ETSU offers a masters degree in Applied Data Science (on campus and online). It is designed to train professionals who can manage and manipulate massive, potentially complex datasets; analyze their content; and effectively communicate these analyses' results and significance to managers and other decision-making personnel.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the median annual salary for a data scientist is over $100K per year in the United States. U.S. employment in data science will grow by 31 percent in the coming decade.

The Statistical Consulting Lab (SCL)
The Statistical Consulting Lab is decicated to offering free consulting on research and survey design, data collecting and administration, statistical analysis, and assessment to ETSU faculty, staff and students. In addition, the Statistical Consulting Lab aims to give introductory training with commonly used data analysis tools and software.

Dr. Mostafa Zahed has joined our department starting Fall 2022. His area of expertise is statistics and data science. He is also the director of the Statistical Consulting Center.
Dr. Michele Joyner is the principal investigator of a PIC Math course (Preparation for Industrial Careers in Mathematical Sciences) at ETSU. PIC Math is a joint Mathematical Association of American and Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics program funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF grant DMS - 1345499). Dr. Joyner is the director of the Internship program for the MS in Applied Data Science program.
Awards:
- Matthew Gladin and Abdelhadi Zaoui both received the 2022-2023 Faculty Award for Outstanding Graduate Student.
- Anna White received the 2022-2023 Faculty Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Student.
