My academic journey began at Walters State Community College, where I was working toward a Journalism degree. After getting my Associate's degree there, I moved on to East Tennessee State University, where I fell in love with the Speech/Communication Studies discipline and dual majored to satisfy my Bachelor's and eventually went on to get my Master's in Professional Communication. I came to ETSU in the Fall of 2011. I primarily chose ETSU due to the proximity to my home in Morristown and the fact that they could work with me regarding the transfer of credits from Walters State Community College. Outside the classroom, I serve as the Alumni Coordinator for the department where I act as the link between our department all of the wonderful graduates that have gone out to own the world.
Teaching Focus
As a Lecturer, I typically teach General Education courses (Argumentation and Debate, Foundations of Communication, Public Speaking, etc.). I love getting to talk to students early in their educations and help them find their way in the scary world of a big time institution.

On A More Personal Note
I am probably the biggest sports fan you will ever meet. My favorite teams are the Dallas Cowboys (of course), the Boston Celtics, and the Chicago Cubs, and of course all things Buccaneers and Volunteers at the collegiate level. I even also enjoy some professional wrestling from time to time.
