Biography
Mr. Jared D. Wilson is a Professor of Practice of Land Surveying in the Surveying and Mapping Science (SAMS) Coordinator at East Tennessee State University. He earned his M.S. in Engineering Technology from East Tennessee State University in May 2002 and a Bachelor of Science degree in surveying and mapping from East Tennessee State University in 2001. He is actively pursuing a Master of Science Engineering Technology, Surveying Engineering Technology, and Doctorate of Engineering at the University of Maine.
Mr. Wilson is a licensed land surveyor in West Virginia and Tennessee, and has performed land surveying related projects in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Maryland, and Washington D.C. He has served on the West Virginia Society of Professional Land Surveyors in the capacity of Chapter Representative, Director, President Elect, and President. His goal is to continue to instruct future land surveyors and benefit the profession.
Research Interests
Mr. Wilson's research interests focus on the role of coordinates and error estimates in land boundary determination and land survey preplanning. He is rather interested in the integration of historic measures, along with respective error estimates, and how those can influence land boundary evidence collection and determination.
