Welcome to the East Tennessee State University Net Price Calculator.
This tool is meant for use for the ETSU main campus.
This tool does not perform a net price calculation for the Quillen College of Medicine nor the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy.
Please read.
This calculator is meant to help families plan for educational costs at ETSU. Results are based on Cost of Attendance figures and student aid eligibility requirements. Future costs and financial aid estimates are subject to change. The accuracy of your estimated awards is based on the information you provide in the calculation.
The estimator will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
To assist in the completing process, please have this information on hand:
Student and Parent most current Income Tax Returns
In lieu of the most current Income Tax Return, earnings statements may be used (W2 forms, recent pay stubs)
Student High School GPA
Student standardized test scores if available (SAT/ACT)
By clicking below, I acknowledge that the estimate provided using this calculator does not represent
a final determination, or actual award of financial assistance, or a final net price; it is an
estimate based on price of attendance and financial aid provided to students in a previous year.
Price of attendance and financial aid availability change year to year and vary from student to student. The estimates shall
not be binding on the Secretary of Education, the institution of higher education, or the State.
Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to be
evaluated for, and if eligible, receive an actual
financial aid award that includes Federal grant, loan, or work-study assistance.
For more information on applying for Federal student aid, go to https://studentaid.gov/

Price of attendance and financial aid availability change year to year. These estimates shall not be binding on
the Secretary of Education, the institution of higher education, or the State.
Not all students receive financial aid. In 2020-21, 79% of our full-time students enrolling
for college for the first time received grant/scholarship aid. Students may also be eligible
for student loans and work-study. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA) in order to determine their eligibility for Federal financial aid that includes
Federal grant, loan, or work-study assistance. For more information on applying for

To be considered for the Tennessee Student Assistance Award (TSAA) students are encouraged to
complete the FAFSA for the upcoming award year beginning October 1. TSAA is a grant for Tennessee
residents who?s FAFSA calculated expected family contribution (EFC) is less than 2101.
TSAA funds are limited and are awarded to the earliest FAFSA filers.
The state tends to expend the funding in February each year. Apply early!
Students can obtain an estimated EFC by completing the Federal FAFSA4caster at www.fafsa.gov.
This is a quick and easy process! Once you have keyed the requested information, be sure to click
on the 'calculate' button. Once calculated, you will note the estimated EFC below 'Difference'.
If the estimated EFC is greater than 2100, you may wish to wait until you file your federal tax
return and can use the IRS Data Retrieval (DRT) process before completing the FAFSA to insure
the accuracy of information reported.
It is encouraged that students complete the FAFSA by the ETSU priority date of April 15 to be
considered for all forms of federal aid. The earlier the student applies the better the chances
the student has of having everything taken care of prior to the start of classes.
The priority deadline to be considered for guaranteed academic scholarships is December 15.
Other scholarships have different deadlines. For additional scholarship information and
deadlines you many visit https://www.etsu.edu/financial-aid-and-scholarships/.
Many students find it necessary to finance education through the Federal Direct Loan Program
and/or private student loans. Students are encouraged to create a monthly budget of their expenses
in relationship to their monthly income when determining the amount to borrow. Many financial
literacy resources (money management, budget worksheet, etc) are free to students.
