Fibers: Fiber Art and Artists’ Book at the Tipton Gallery |

Event Description:
The ETSU Department of Art & Design and Slocumb Galleries in partnership with the Urban Redevelopment Alliance (URA) present “Fibers: Fiber Art and Artists’ Book” a group exhibition curated by Patricia Mink from December 3 to 13, 2012. The reception is scheduled on December 7, First Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Tipton Gallery.
The exhibition “Fibers: Fiber Art and Artists’ Book” features work that explore various techniques and artistic processes in fiber surface treatment and book arts. The works are curated from select classes taught by Mink, program director for the ETSU Fibers concentration under the Department of Art & Design. The Fibers Club will also be selling select
hand dyed silk scarves and book arts during the reception.
The Tipton Gallery is located at 126 Spring Street, Downtown, Johnson City. All events are open to the public free of charge. The Tipton Gallery is open to the public for viewing on Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Fridays from 6 to 8 p.m., or by appointment; with extended hours during receptions, First Fridays and scheduled tours.
