Yin Yoga

Event Description:
Yin yoga, like restorative yoga, is a passive-style yoga that targets connective tissue — tendons, ligaments and fascia — by using gravity and staying in the poses longer. The poses are mostly done on the floor, seated or lying down, and are held five minutes or longer. The breath is utilized to promote the stretch and release of the tissues. The benefits include improved skeletal alignment, increased flexibility and circulation to the joint areas, and better overall health of the body's systems, including the immune system. Yin yoga can be done "cold," without having to warm up the muscles.
