The Lovelies of John Alan Maxwell

Event Description
Artist, John Alan Maxwell, was known for his classical book and magazine illustrations for authors such as Pearl Buck, John Steinbeck and Ernest Hemingway. This exhibit examines Maxwell's under appreciated mastery of the human form. Esquire Magazine once described Maxwell's portrayals of nudes as "dangerous."

A reception and film screening of Doug McDaniel's documentary, The Lovelies of John Alan Maxwell, will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, with the documentary screening at approximately 5:45 pm at the Reece Museum.

The Reece Museum is open Monday - Friday 9:00 am until 4:30 pm. Admission is free, and parking passes are available for weekday visitors.
