East Tennessee State University will recognize students for superior achievement during the annual Academic Excellence Convocation on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. in the Martha Street Culp Auditorium of the D.P. Culp University Center.
Faculty Award winners, voted by the faculty as the most outstanding students in their respective academic department, will be honored, along with all graduating students achieving cum laude, magna cum laude, and summa cum laude academic standings. Graduating students in the University Honors Scholars, Midway Honors Scholars, Fine and Performing Arts Scholars Programs, Honors-in-Discipline programs, and Roan Leadership Scholars will also be recognized.
The Academic Excellence Convocation is free and open to the public. Family and friends of the students being recognized are especially encouraged to attend the ceremony followed by a reception Culp Center Ballroom.

We are pleased to have record attendance at this year’s Academic Excellence Convocation. Due to fire regulations, there is a maximum capacity for Martha Street Culp Auditorium. Therefore, once our audience reaches this maximum, we will be directing guests to the Culp Center Ballroom (3rd floor) where the program will be telecast live on a large screen. Guests viewing from the ballroom should go directly to the reception (other side of ballroom) immediately following the Convocation to meet their graduates.
Please arrive early for seating in the auditorium.
