Event Description:
The ETSU Department of Art & Design and Slocumb Galleries present “Slocumb Holiday Art Show & Silent Auction” from December 3 to 13, 2012. The reception and auction results are scheduled on December 3, Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. The Slocumb Galleries will also host the Student Ceramics Association (SCA) Bowl Charity Event to benefit the Second Harvest during the reception.
The Slocumb Holiday Art Show will feature art and craft work by faculty, students, local artists, and alumni ranging from painting, prints, photographs, jewelries, fibers, ceramics and other works in various media. Some of the participating artists and art groups are Jaime Santos-Prowse, Liz Layton, TACA’s Aleta Chandler, Katherine Jenkins, Dyna Designs & Richard Dwyer; Kyle Darnell and the Graduate Fine Arts Association, Melisa Cadell, Chelsea Hoilman, Student Ceramics Association, Sophisticated Junkie by Dawn Marie Tipton, Student Photography Association, Fibers Group, and Snarly’s and jewelries by Keith and Mindy Herrin. There are also non-art items that will be auctioned courtesy of local establishment and Friends of the Slocumb Galleries - Back Door Records, Bang Hair Salon, Body Health & Mind Center, Camp Ruff & More, Gems and Whims, Inspire Hair Color Studio, Mr. K’s, Metamorphosis Salon, Mountain Empire Comics, The Dollhouse, and Video Trading Company.
The Slocumb Galleries’ events are open to the public free of charge. Gallery hours: Mondays thru Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended hours during receptions and scheduled tours.
