Event Description:
The ETSU Department of Art & Design and Slocumb Galleries present the first Homecoming Art Exhibition & Craft Sale on November 2 to 7, 2013, featuring works in various media by students, faculty, staff, alumni and local artists.

The Homecoming Art Exhibition and Craft Sale celebrates the creativity of artists, students and alumni creating work that resonate with the community and promotes the culture of art ‘collecting’. All works in the exhibition are available for sale.

This event is in line with the annual art & craft sale fundraiser that the Slocumb Galleries with the assistance of the Slocumb Galleries Student Society (SGSS) organizes to provide venue for artists, alumni and students to sell their work locally and provide the community the opportunity to collect affordable art work and gift items for the holidays. Part of the proceeds benefits the annual Student Honor Show, an undergraduate art competition, the visiting artists program of the Slocumb Galleries and the Tipton Gallery in Downtown Johnson City.

The Homecoming Art Exhibition and Craft Sale also serves as the launching event for the ‘Art Circle’, an art subscription program enabling faculty and various offices at ETSU to display art works from the Art Circle Collection, another opportunity to encourage the culture of ‘collecting’ and promote art appreciation in campus.

All events are open to the public free of charge, located at Ernest C. Ball Hall, along Sherrod Drive, ETSU campus. For more information, email Slocumb Galleries’ Director Karlota Contreras-Koterbay or call (423) 483-3179. Parking and handicapped access are available.
