Seize The Clay and Empty Bowls by Student Ceramic Association (SCA) at Nelson Fine Art Center
This is the 12th anniversary of the East Tennessee State University Ceramics Association show. Always popular and challenging, the student work will include both functional and conceptual pieces. Food will be from Earth Fare.
In addition, the students will host Empty Bowls, a fundraiser for local food banks. With Empty Bowls, students will donate bowls they've made. You can buy a bowl for $10 and with that, you can fill it with soups also prepared by the students. All of the funds will then be donated to a local food bank.
Seize the Clay reception will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday. Nelson Fine Art is located at 324 E. Main St. in Downtown Johnson City. For more information, call (423) 926-2931.
SCA will also have an Italy fundraising event at Earth Fare on Sunday, May 5, selling ceramic work to help fund students studying ceramics in Italy this summer.
